travel united kingdom scotland castle of mey castle exterior

The Castle of Mey is in a relatively simple Tudor-Gothic style of architecture and is finished with stone.
At best, you might say the design is comfortable... it certainly is nothing exciting.
It was interesting to see what the Queen Mother thought made a nice retreat for her.
Many of the tourists were oohing and aahing over the little family trinkets and photographs.
For me, the castle was plain and the rooms were small and awkward.
Photos were not allowed inside.
